WINTER has arrived and Wednesday Twilight Bowls is now beanie and jumpers time with the bonus of playing under beautiful stars on these cooler nights. Tony and Steve’s famous burgers to start the evening are a must followed by one and a half hours of exercise, companionship and conversation that ends back in the warm clubhouse for tales of how the game was played.
Why not come down and give it a go yourself – just turn up before 6pm and we will look after you.
Lawn bowls has an image problem and is probably best characterised by describing what it isn’t.
It is not a slow, old persons game played in white uniforms. In fact it is a precision sport where players roll specially weighted, asymmetrical bowls as close as possible to a smaller target ball known as a jack.
Whether you are a trained athlete or someone seeking exercise lawn bowls caters for all with social and more competitive games on offer.
Our Tuesday morning (8am for 8:30am start) Jackpot Pairs competition this week is $230 which is a lucky draw margin (plus or minus) where everyone has a chance of winning. 2 games of 10 ends with a break for morning tea.
Club selected teams playing 2, 4, 2 format makes for a fun, competitive and enjoyable game of lawn bowls.
