SATURDAY 19th September was the Final of 2026 Sunshine Coast District Pennants Division 7 competition with Maleny (65 shots) defeating Club Maroochy (60 shots).
This was a terrific match up with some awesome bowls being played by both sides. It was nail biting going down to the last of 63 ends of play.
It was tremendous to have a swag of supporters make the journey to Coolum Beach Bowls Club to cheer on our teams.
Congratulations to all players who participated with special thanks to Doug Johnstone and Steve Palmer who organised teams and ensured that we were well prepared.
This has continued the run for the club in Pennants competition after a break since 2009.
We have now won 2023 versus Mooloolaba, 2024 versus Pelican Waters, 2025 versus Pelican Waters and now 2026 versus Club Maroochy.
This week we welcomed two Maleny State High School work experience students who learnt the operations of our club and how our incredible members and volunteers make us so successful.
Our members were delighted to see them at events and see them helping out.
On Wednesday our Holiday Vacations (America) tour group of 22 paid us a visit and got to experience lawn bowls for the very first time.
They were also pleased to see our work experience students participate and make them feel at ease.
