Maleny Bowls

Winter is here and those playing Wednesday Twilight Bowls will be donning their beanies and jumpers as the chill sets in. It is certainly worth the effort as playing lawn bowls under the stars at this time of year is spectacular especially coming off the full moon. This triples team game is ideal to form your own team of family members, friends or work colleagues with no previous experience required. We supply bowls free of charge for new bowlers and visitors are always welcome.

Our next competition will be the Sunshine Coast District Lawn Bowls Pennants where we will be competing against teams from Palmwoods, Pelican Waters, Woombye, Kawana, Maroochy, Moolooloaba and Yandina Bowls Clubs in a home and away format starting Saturday 25 July and running until 5 September followed by the finals. We ask that members nominate for the teams on the list at the club.

Despite celebrating our 89th birthday this year, Maleny Bowls Club seems not to be widely known within the local community, example being a young lady who was a guest at a recent birthday party held at the club and who grew up and went to school here did not know we existed. She was pleasantly surprised and indicated that she would now keep us in mind for future celebrations and would tell all of her friends about this hidden gem. We hope you will do the same.
