It’s been a successful period recently for the Maleny Contract Bridge Club, with two of our members placing first in the Australia-Wide Open pairs and two placing third in the Australia-Wide Novice Pairs.
Trevor Dunn and Jeffrey Hodges defeated nearly 1800 experienced players across Australia to win the Open Pairs, with Andrew Smart and Kym Jervois taking third place in the Novice Pairs against almost 1500 others.
Jeffrey learnt his bridge ten years ago in Maleny from two of our players John Marsden and Paul Kemp, while Trevor tells an interesting story about learning from a retired colonel in a private train carriage during his daily commute in London at the age of 25.
In addition to those achievements, we recently had 23 new players complete six weeks of lessons and are now delighted to welcome them into our club.
Our beginners’ classes are held once or twice a year, and playing sessions are every Monday and Thursday afternoons, and Tuesday evenings.
Wednesday mornings are supervised sessions for novice players, and monthly Saturday afternoon sessions complete our regular schedule.
We welcome all potential members of any level of experience to contact us by email info@malenybridgeclub.org.au. See our website for further information.
