Maleny Cheese celebrates win

Maleny Cheese is celebrating another outstanding achievement, with its Maleny Gourmet Yoghurt; Apple and Cinnamon, awarded Champion Dairy Dessert or Yoghurt at the prestigious Royal Queensland Awards.

This accolade reinforces Maleny Cheese’s reputation as one of Queensland’s leading artisan dairy producers, recognised for its commitment to top-quality, flavour and traditional craftsmanship.

The Apple and Cinnamon yoghurt impressed judges with its rich, creamy texture and perfectly balanced flavour profile, showcasing the use of high-quality local milk and carefully selected ingredients.

Adding to its growing list of accolades, the same Apple and Cinnamon yoghurt was crowned Champion in its category at the Australian Grand Dairy Awards last year, further cementing its place among Australia’s best dairy products.

Maleny Cheese also continues its strong award history at the Royal Queensland Awards, having taken out the Champion Dairy Dessert or Yoghurt category last year with its Passionfruit Yoghurt.

“These awards reflect the passion and care that goes into every batch we produce,” said Sara Bucher, Co-Owner of Maleny Cheese. “We’re incredibly proud of our team, our farmers, and the quality of milk that underpins everything we do.”

The success doesn’t stop there, with Markus and Sara also receiving industry recognition beyond Maleny Cheese.

Their trusted milk transport business, Obi Obi Dairy, has been nominated for a Glasshouse Small Business Award, highlighting their contribution to the dairy supply chain and regional industry strength.

In addition, Maleny Cheese has been named a finalist in the National Dairy Industry Association of Australia Awards, to be held in Melbourne on 29 May.

The national awards recognise excellence, leadership, and innovation across the Australian dairy sector.

“This is a proud moment for our entire team and the wider dairy community we work alongside,” said Sara. “From farm to transport to finished product, it’s a collective effort that continues to be recognised at the highest levels.”
