WHILE plans towards a Maleny Skatepark rebuild continues to progress, the newly constructed half pipe has now been completed with community advocates welcoming the upgrade.
Following months of persistent petitioning to Council to have the aging community facility revamped, lead petitioner, Amy Wilson, said she had been pleased by Council’s engagement and community consultation to date.
Ms Wilson said she sincerely hoped that going forward, funding would be allocated to enable more of the facility rebuild.
She said a community consultation process to discuss three possible design options had already taken place, and there was also a possibility of having additional seating options considered depending on future financial capacity. Ms Wilson said she anticipated an update on the project status by March 2024.
