It will come as no surprise to Maleny residents, but for the sake of the rest of the world it has been confirmed that the Hinterland community is the Most Welcoming Town in Australia for the second year in a row.
The award from Booking.com was based on more than 232 million verified reviews from travellers.
The Traveller Review Awards found Maleny the most welcoming town in Australia, while Tasmania placed third in Most Welcoming Regions globally.
In Australia, the Sunshine State dominated, with four out of the Top Ten Most Welcoming Cities featuring from Queensland, including Montville which came in ninth.
