MALENY Pool is officially open for summer after the Swimming Club confirmed the appointment of of coach/manager Dennye Mosley.
The opening of the facility to the public seemed unlikely earlier this year after difficulties in finding staff for the job. It would have been the third year running that the hinterland town residents could not access the local pool.
But after much work by the Maleny Swimming Club Committee, the appointment of Dennye has secured its future, with the opening day held last weekend on Saturday December 10.
“We wish to thank everyone who has supported the Maleny Swimming Club as we have worked our way to getting the pool ready to be reopened,” the club stated.
A fundraising drive to ensure health and safety compliance was also successful.
The pool is open daily including from 10am to 3pm on weekends.
Entry is $5 for adults and $4 for seniors and children.
