Maleny to cop 260mm of rain over coming week

UP TO 80mm of rain is forecast for Maleny on Wednesday and up to 260mm of rain in total to Saturday as two troughs form across the state.

A cumulative 400mm is forecast for the Burdekin, central highlands and Capricornia over the coming days as two troughs form across the state.

While Glasshouse Country is expected to cop a drenching with falls of up to 160mm to Saturday, Maleny and the Blackall Range communities will receive up to 260mm including 80mm on both Wednesday and Friday.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk on Friday said authorities were preparing to respond to a “severe weather event” this week and she urged the community to be prepared for heavy rain.
