Man charged following rampage

A 41-year-old Tewantin man has been charged with 15 offenses following a fatal crash and a series of violent incidents on the Sunshine Coast last Monday, April 21. Bradley Donald Towle allegedly caused a six-vehicle crash at 12:10 pm on the Bruce Highway, Palmview, while driving a red Porsche Macan. Police allege he struck a Nissan Micra, killing a 22-year-old woman from Upper Mount Gravatt.

The driver of the Micra, a 22-year-old man from Strathpine, sustained minor injuries. Towle allegedly exited the Porsche, shot a 62-year-old man who had stopped to help, and stole his vehicle. After crashing the stolen car, Towle allegedly threatened a family at gunpoint before being arrested at 12:48 pm. A firearm was recovered, and Towle was hospitalized under guard.

He was due in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on April 23, but the matter was adjourned. Towle remains in custody until his next court date in late June.
