MALENY Library supervisor Amanda Kennedy recently visited the local Men’s Shed to encourage more men to visit the library. The Men’s Shed members already knew about our extensive book collection but they were surprised to find out we offer so much more than books.
John Kent, a member of the Men’s Shed and a regular Maleny Library customer, often visits to explore our range of science books. However, when our friendly staff suggested he might enjoy the Read Now collection it opened his mind to a much wider range of reading and entertainment options!
Like John, some of the Men’s Shed members didn’t know they could reserve items from the library collection, tailored specially to their interests. From westerns to Australian history and magazines for car enthusiasts, science buffs, gardeners or handymen, the library collection is as wide as the open sky. Just ask one of our friendly team members – we can guarantee you’ll find something right up your alley.
After his recent library visit, John is now set up with a standing reservation so he can get his fix of ‘American Science’ magazine every month. As a bonus, he’s also updated his library profile preferences so he’ll never miss the latest science titles or popular additions to the Read Now collection.
Did you know you can also access our eLibrary anytime, from anywhere? The eLibrary is free for library members to enjoy eBooks, magazines, movies, music and more via your smartphone or device. It’s a great resource if you’re on holidays, travelling or working on your next project in the shed.
