A SOLD-OUT murder mystery fundraiser has delivered a major boost for the Sunshine Coast Hinterland Writers Festival (SCHWF) 2026, raising more than $4000 to help secure top-tier authors for the event.
Festival Director Lea Dodd said the evening was “unforgettable”, with 108 tickets sold across 15 teams, four of which correctly solved the whodunnit.
“It’s an incredible result that will help us lock in some outstanding authors for SCHWF2026,” Ms Dodd said.
The popular event also attracted more than $1800 in donated raffle prizes, with tickets now available at Rosetta Books.
Organisers said the strong community support demonstrated the region’s passion for literature and live cultural events. Early Bird tickets for SCHWF2026 are on sale until 24 February at www.schwritersfestival.com.au with the full program to be released on February 26 2026.
The Murder Mystery Night captured high spirits, creative costumes and lively atmosphere that made the event such a success.
