Music scholarships at Flinders

Nurturing the next generation of musical artists

TALENTED young musicians eager to explore their full potential are invited to apply for Music Scholarships at Matthew Flinders Anglican College by Monday, 11 August 2025. Scholarships in Sport and Principal’s categories are also available for students entering Years 7 to 12 in 2026.

Flinders is widely recognised for its outstanding music program, offering 24 high-quality ensembles, including string orchestras, bands, and choral groups. The curriculum includes classroom music, extension subjects, mainstage musical productions, public concert seasons, and music tours. Students also benefit from private tuition and masterclasses in partnership with leading institutions like the Queensland Symphony Orchestra and the Australian Girls Choir.

Current music scholars include Year 10 students Hanina Ward, Liam Booth, and Jemma Ward, who have all excelled in the College’s Music Edge extension program. Hanina and Liam were accepted into Griffith University’s Australian Honours Ensemble Program (AHEP), while Jemma successfully auditioned for the prestigious Queensland Academy of Excellence in Music Theatre, a Griffith University pre-tertiary course.

Principal Michelle Carroll said the College is proud to provide students with a quality music education starting from Prep, building skills, confidence, and a love for performance.

“Hanina, Liam, and Jemma are just three of our many talented students achieving phenomenal success, and our staff is honoured to support their musical journeys,” Ms Carroll said.
