SUNSHINE Coast residents gathered at the Nambour Library Forecourt on July 7 for the annual NAIDOC Flag Raising Ceremony, celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, history and achievements. Held as part of NAIDOC Week, the free community event featured speeches, cultural performances and interactive activities reflecting this year’s theme, ‘50 Years of Deadly’. The ceremony concluded with the official raising of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags.
