New Coastal Pathway Section Completed in Warana

The latest link in the Sunshine Coast’s beautiful coastal pathway has been completed and is ready for adventure.

Walkers, riders, and runners can now enjoy a wider, more accessible pathway featuring stunning ocean views and shaded areas filled with native birdlife.

The Warana section of the Coastal Pathway is part of the 73km route stretching from Bells Creek in the south to Coolum in the north. Sunshine Coast Council has completed the section between Beach Access 233 (Coonang Crescent) and Beach Access 229, connecting it to the existing network at Koorin Drive.

Sunshine Coast Division 4 Councillor Joe Natoli was proud to see Council’s vision for a world-class scenic route come to life ahead of schedule.

“These safe, connected pathways are great for residents to have some fun with family and friends, and it’s a wonderful way to see the beauty of the coastline while staying active,” Cr Natoli said.

The 1km-long, 3m-wide concrete pathway includes accessibility features, beach showers, seating, and bike racks. Council partnered with the Queensland Government through the Cycle Network Local Government Grants Program to deliver the project.
