RESIDENTS across the Glass House Mountains, Beerwah and surrounding communities now have access to an expanded range of diagnostic imaging services, with Sunshine Coast Radiology extending and significantly upgrading its Beerwah clinic.
The expansion represents a major investment in local healthcare, making it easier for patients to access a broader range of imaging services closer to home.
The Beerwah clinic now features a beautiful new waiting room, providing a more comfortable and welcoming environment for patients, along with two new ultrasound rooms to increase capacity and improve appointment availability.
A new Bone Mineral Densitometry (BMD) service is also now available, providing specialised imaging to assess bone density and help identify osteoporosis and fracture risk.
The expansion is continuing, with a new MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) service scheduled to commence on Monday, September 22. The addition of MRI will provide patients with access to advanced imaging technology locally, reducing the need to travel further afield for these examinations.
MRI is one of the most advanced diagnostic tools available, used to assist in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of conditions including sporting injuries, spinal issues, neurological concerns, joint pain and many other health conditions.
The expanded clinic also includes a dedicated new space for OPG (orthopantomogram) dental imaging, further improving service provision available to the local community. “Beerwah has grown significantly, and we want our services to grow with the community,” said Sunshine Coast Radiology.
