New owners step up

Mooloolah’s longstanding Newsagency has new owners, with local couple Caity and Adam Gaudion officially taking over on September 2.

The pair are already familiar to many residents as the operators of Jones Street Kitchen and are committed to continuing the Newsagency’s role as a reliable community service.

The change of ownership follows seven years under Toni and Nat, who have stepped away from the business. Toni has retired, with the Gaudions paying tribute to the couple’s dedication. “We’re grateful for everything Toni and Nat have done, and we wish Toni the very best in her retirement,” Caity said.

The Newsagency will maintain its core services, including lottery tickets, newspapers, magazines, cards, and stationery. In a new convenience, newspapers will also be stocked at Jones Street Kitchen.

Opening hours are Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm and Saturday from 8am to 2pm. The business will remain closed on Sundays, although the Gaudions are open to revising this if there is strong community demand.

Adam said their focus is on ensuring continuity while adding new energy. “We’re excited to breathe some life into the store and keep it as a place the community can depend on,” he said.

The Gaudions have encouraged locals to drop in, introduce themselves, and support the Newsagency as it begins its next chapter.
