A NEW round of funding is giving Sunshine Coast rural landholders and primary producers the chance to secure support for practical environmental improvements on their properties.
Sunshine Coast Council has opened expressions of interest for its conservation partnership program, with applications sought for projects that improve water quality, protect native habitat and deliver long-term environmental outcomes across the Sunshine Coast Biosphere.
Environment Portfolio Councillor Tim Burns said working with private landholders was vital, with much of the region’s land held outside public ownership. “Providing landholders with financial support and expert advice leads to real, on-ground change,” Cr Burns said.
Expressions of interest close on August 10, Eligible projects can receive up to $15,000 in funding, matched through a 50:50 contribution. Visit Council’s website for guidelines and how to apply.
