Nominations open for Pride of Workmanship awards

THE Rotary Club of Maleny will once again host its Pride of Workmanship awards in 2021, with the presentation dinner on Saturday, August 21 at Tranquil Park.
Nominations are open for the service excellence and recognition awards, which give local Maleny businesses, organisations and members of the public the opportunity to celebrate the efforts of individuals in their place of work – either as a paid employee, sole trader, volunteer or even local supplier.

The club’s vocational director, Paulette Steele, said last year’s awards were so well received that the club was keen to host them once again this year.

“One of the great features of the awards was that it wasn’t a traditional competition, with every nominee receiving a plaque at the presentation night, but rather a wonderful way to acknowledge and recognise an individual’s demonstrated pursuit of excellence in work practices,” Paulette said.
“The reason we are so keen to hold it again is because of the joy of seeing people being recognised for the job
they do.
“People often don’t get recognised for all the hard work they put in, so this is a way for local businesses and organisations, or even a member of the public, to nominate someone to show that their contribution and service at work has been noticed, appreciated and is highly valued.”

Maleny Rotarians have already hit the streets, approaching local businesses to spread the word and hand out nomination forms. Nominations must be submitted by Saturday, July 31.
