THANKFULLY this story isn’t about me, but spare a thought for the poor Hinterland bloke who spent a couple of weeks in hospital over the new year after suffering a severe burn when his motorbike fell on him.
Not his fault either.
Multiple skin grafts later he thought he was on the mend – even if it didn’t feel like it – only for the doctors to inform him that, whoops, theose skin grafts didn’t take, because, ummm, we put them on upside down.
So back to the hospital for another graft and another round of pain.
I’m no surgeon but surely a burns unit specialist can tell one side of the skin from the other.
CANDIDOTES
Interesting watching the council elections heating up. Is it just me or is there a bit of similarity between some candidates campaigns.
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. May the best person win.
OZ DAY LAMENT
Thank goodness that’s all over with. The predicatibility of these arguments is a bore. I’ve never wanted to wear an Australian flag bikini or chant ‘Aussie, Aussie, Aussie’, but I don’t want to feel like a racist for being proud to be an Australian.
SOFT LANDING
Apparently all the talk is of a soft economic landing this year. A record number of interest rate rises have (almost) done the job apparently. Although juxtapose that with falling inflation against a strong economy and you might ask why it’s falling. Were record rate rises not necessary?
Louis Vitton’s parent company just revealed record sales and profit last year, so the rich did their bit to hold the economy upright.
Thanks folks.
AIR CON
I’m surely the last person in Queensland without aircon. I almost caved last week.
They haven’t got me yet, although the mould might.
