On Saturday, April 12, head to the Coffee Club Beerwah from 7 am for a fundraising pancake event in support of Parkinson’s Disease awareness. Hosted by Neil Collie from Silver Fox Initiative and Gary McKitterick Gillett from Trek Ready Himalayas, the event will raise funds for Parkinson’s research through Shake It Up Australia.
100 percent of proceeds from the event will go directly to support Australian research into Parkinson’s. Attendees can enjoy delicious pancakes and coffee, purchase raffle tickets, and learn more about Parkinson’s from the team. The event also offers a chance to meet the trekkers who will be heading to Nepal on April 19 to tackle the Annapurna Circuit, further raising awareness and funds for Parkinson’s.
Parkinson’s affects over 2,500 people on the Sunshine Coast, with an additional 12,000 carers and families impacted. Nationally, almost 250,000 Australians live with the condition, with 38 new diagnoses made every day.
The event will feature giveaways, opportunities for photos with the trekkers, and ways to donate via QR code. Every dollar raised will make a difference.
