For the next 48 hours, 100 Season Camping tickets are now available for the Woodford Folk Festival thanks to a generous donation by longtime attendees of the festival.
The tickets are available via a short application at woodfordfolkfestival.com/pay-it-forward/ for those who wish to attend, but need support this year.
The couple, who would prefer to remain anonymous, said they wished to give back to the community that has brought their family, now three generations, so much joy over the years.
This generous donation comes as slower than expected ticket sales are threatening the future of the Woodford Folk Festival.
The free tickets are for patrons wanting to come and camp at the festival for the week and bring family or friends, however this year are just not able to afford the cost of all the tickets in their group.
Woodford Folk Festival Director, Amanda Jackes, announced a 48-hour ‘Festival Pay-It-Forward Movement’ to enable organisers to distribute these tickets in time, and to those in need.
“We know there are people out there who would love to join us, but they need a helping hand this year and we are delighted to be able to make this offer, thanks to the enormous kindness of two generous Woodfordians,” she said.
“We are offering one adult season camping ticket per successful application.
“We hope family groups, couples or a party of mates who would love a bit of a hand to attend the festival can apply for this offer.”
Applications are now open until Friday, December 13 at 9am, anyone can apply and successful applicants will be notified by 5pm December 13.
