Police service recognised

ONE of the Queensland Police Service’s traditions is honouring officers and support staff for the contribution they make to both the service and community.

Bravery, tenacity and professional conduct are qualities reflected in many of the decisions and actions taken every day by police officers.

The Sunshine Coast district honours and awards ceremony was held recently to highlight the work performed by police officers, including a number from Beerwah Police station.

There were a range of medals presented including the Queensland Police Service Medal that recognises ten years of diligent and ethical service by members of the Queensland Police Service.

Some officers received medals for 15 years of service as well as the National Police Service Medal and the National Medal.

Administration officer Roxanne Corkin, who works across both Beerwah and Maleny stations, received a medal for 20 years of service.
