QCWA marks 103 years strong

THE Queensland Country Women’s Association is celebrating its 103rd birthday, marking a legacy that began at the Brisbane Ekka on 11 August 1922.

From those early days at the Exhibition Grounds, the QCWA has grown into a statewide network dedicated to supporting women and families through advocacy, education and practical help.

“This birthday is not just a celebration of our history — it’s a celebration of the women who have shaped Queensland communities for generations,” said QCWA State President Tamara Stephensen.

Branches across the state will mark the milestone with “Sconversation Days” throughout August, inviting members, friends and newcomers to connect, share stories and reflect on the Association’s impact.

“Sconversation Days are about connection — celebrating our past, sharing our present and inspiring our future,” Ms Stephensen said.
