QUEENSLAND’S birthday celebrations are set to reach a new level this year, with the State Government unveiling an inaugural Mega Round of sport as part of QLD Day festivities on June 6.
In an Australian-first concept, all Queensland-based teams across the NRL, AFL and Super Netball will compete on the same day, alongside the QLD Day Stakes at Brisbane Racing Club’s Seven Oaks Day, creating a statewide sporting showcase.
The Mega Round line-up includes the North Queensland Cowboys taking on the Dolphins, the Brisbane Broncos facing the Gold Coast Titans, the Gold Coast Suns meeting the Brisbane Lions, and the Queensland Firebirds clashing with the Sunshine Coast Lightning.
