Queensland Greats award nominations open

Nominations for the 2025 Queensland Greats Awards are now open, inviting Queenslanders to honour individuals and institutions who have made outstanding contributions to the state. Since 2001, the awards have celebrated 122 individuals, 1 honorary, 20 institutions, and 11 posthumous recipients across diverse fields such as business, science, arts, and community service.

Deputy Premier Jarrod Bleijie highlighted the importance of the awards. “It is an honour to recognise the outstanding achievements and contributions of our Queensland Greats,” he said. “From scientists to athletes, these awards showcase the best of who we are as a state.”

Queensland Greats Bruce and Denise Morcombe, recognised in 2020 for their child safety advocacy, called the award a humbling experience. “We are keeping company with inspirational people dedicated to improving the lives of Queenslanders,” they said, encouraging nominations for those whose efforts deserve recognition.
