Queensland’s largest gold mine will continue operating for at least another 16 years after securing the renewal of four key mining leases.
The Ravenswood Gold Project in North Queensland, which employs more than 400 people, has also set ambitious expansion plans, aiming to boost processing capacity from 2.5 million to 8.4 million tonnes annually.
A recent $350 million expansion included new mining equipment, a crusher, a 12 MW ball mill, and a 100-million-tonne tailings storage facility.
The renewal also allows feasibility studies into the Last Chance mineral prospect, reinforcing confidence in Queensland’s resources sector.
