Registrations are up at the Glasshouse Cricket Club

THE Glasshouse Districts Cricket Club will have division one- and two-women’s team for the first time ever thanks to a boost in registrations this season.

Glasshouse Districts Cricket Club president Jeremy Schultz said they’ve gained popularity due to increased Facebook promotion and holds the title of Queensland community cricket club of the year.

This boom in registrations will also allow the men to have teams in divisions one, two, three, four and six teams, which has Schultz excited for this season.

“We’ve got way more registrations this year, I think with our juniors we will have two or three more teams than last year, and in our men’s, we may have one extra team,” he said.

“Our women’s numbers are really strong as well; we could almost pick up an extra team there, so everything is going really well.”

Schultz said the club won’t change much this season, but they do hope to have a stronger involvement in the annual Movember campaign, which supports men’s mental health and cancers.

The men’s and women’s 2022/23 cricket season will start in the first weekend of October, and to find the seasons fixtures keep an eye out on the Glasshouse Districts Cricket Club’s socials.
