Landsborough Seventh-day Adventist Church members, family and friends gathered together on the 18th of January to remember and celebrate the life of Col Brighton who passed away on December 25 after a long battle with cancer.

Over 150 people attended the function at the Beerwah Community Hall. Representatives from various organisations including the Queensland Ambulance Service, St John Ambulance, South Queensland Adventist Conference, Adventist Aviation Association, welfare network groups as well as the residents from the Glasshouse Views Retirement Village were represented.

Col was remembered as a kind-hearted, dedicated and practical person who always gave his time, energy and effort in the service of others.

His family read tributes and shared stories about his life.

Other friends and community members also spoke about their friendship with Col.

His daughter Nicole received a posthumous award from the Queensland Ambulance Service for her father’s dedication to the Service as a member of the Caloundra Local Ambulance Committee and his work as a first aid instructor.

The number of people present testified to the influence Col had on all those who knew him.

Col loved his God, his family, his church and his community and will be deeply missed.
