THE ‘climb’ from Landsborough to Maleny is about to get a bit smoother, with resurfacing works planned for a section of Landsborough Maleny Road in the coming weeks.
Asphalt resurfacing and line marking on the section of road east of the Ocean View Tourist Park to west of Old Maleny Road East Mount Mellum is expected to begin this month.
Night works are set to be completed from 6pm to 5am, Sunday to Thursday, a spokesperson for Transport and Main Roads said.
Weather and construction conditions permitting, the resurfacing work is expected to take about five nights to complete, with the spokesperson sharing motorists may experience minor delays when lane closures are implemented during working hours.
Advance warning signs will be in place to advise of the changed traffic conditions and to ensure motorist and road worker safety; priority access through the work site will be given to emergency vehicles.
There are a number of other sections of road across the hinterland in need of resurfacing, however Transport and Main Roads are yet to advise of upcoming works.
