MEMBERS of the Landsborough Seventh-day Adventist Church are at the heart of an extraordinary endurance challenge this September.
Sisters Anna and Rachel, together with teammates Louise and Sonia, will ride more than 4,000 kilometres from Perth to Sydney on a custom-built quad tandem bike.
Calling themselves ‘The Tandem Tribe’, the women are aiming to raise $500,000 for Gotcha4Life, a mental fitness charity dedicated to suicide prevention. “We want to remind people that no one has to ride alone,” Rachel said.
Their epic journey will test both body and spirit, but through determination, teamwork and plenty of laughs, the riders hope to spread a powerful message of connection and resilience. Funds raised will help Gotcha4Life deliver programs that build stronger relationships and mental fitness, particularly among men and boys, who remain at greatest risk of suicide.
The group will also visit schools along the route, encouraging students and staff to embrace open conversations about mental health. “We’re doing this for every person who’s struggled in silence,” Louise said. “We’re riding to break that silence.”
