Rosetta’s Great Reads- A Man Called Otto (Ove)

Reviewed by Karin Markowski

“Ove is fifty-nine. He drives a Saab. He’s the kind of man that points at people he doesn’t like the look of, as if they were burglars and his forefinger a policeman’s torch.” Although Ove, rightly so, comes across as a grumpy old man we soon discover that there’s more to Ove than that. There’s so much to look about Frederik Backman’s heart-warming book. In fact, after reading this book I wish there was an Ove in every neighbourhood! This book has been re-issued from the original (A Man Called Ove) to coincide with the film adaptation starring Tom Hanks due out on 1 January. I can’t wait to see Tom Hanks bring Ove to life, but I do recommend you read this book before you see the film.
