Rural Fire Brigade turns 30

By Helen Jakeman

LANDSBOROUGH Rural Fire Brigade members came together for our end of year social get-together and to celebrate 30 years for our brigade.

It was a wonderful afternoon with both past and present members and their families attending the event. There were many stories told during the afternoon. However, there was a common thread that came across and that was what our brigade had achieved over the 30 years from when we started with a few knapsacks to our current fire-fighting vehicles, equipment and fire station.

Our brigade is very lucky that we still have many core members from those early days but we also have a lot of new members who have joined over the subsequent years who continue to help our brigade grow stronger and stronger.

We would like to say an extra big thank you to the Landsborough businesses who continue to support our brigade with donations and fundraising ventures. Thank you to the Landsborough Hotel, Bucks Bakery (who donated our fantastic birthday cake), Landsborough Meats, Landsborough IGA and the Landsborough Chemist.

We would like to wish all of our community a Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year.
