San Taekwondo has had a busy start to the competition season, with athletes competing strongly across local, state and national events.
At the Australian Taekwondo National Team Trials in Sydney, Matt produced a standout performance, winning three of his four fights and only narrowly missing national team selection by two points in the third round.
The club has also achieved strong local results, including eight gold, two silver and one bronze medal at the Queensland Open, followed by three silver and three bronze medals at the Gold Coast Open.
Senior instructor Maverick recently returned from an international training camp in Thailand, where he trained with high-level clubs and athletes, gaining valuable experience to bring back to the club.
San Taekwondo has also received generous support from Jaymak Sunshine Coast, helping the club purchase an electronic scoring system.
The new equipment will allow athletes to better prepare for real competition and support the development of students from beginners through to elite competitors.
Club owner Cameron Taylor said the results showed the hard work, consistency and attitude of the team, with the club continuing to build strong, confident and resilient young athletes through sport.
