Sensational summer of golf at Beerwah Club

BEERWAH Golf Club enjoyed a bumper summer, with a mainly dry December and January bringing plenty of golfers through the gates across the holiday season.

The fairways were busy, the course was in terrific shape, and it proved to be the perfect time of year to get out for a round.

Those who hadn’t been out to Beerwah lately were encouraged to do themselves a favour by calling the pro shop and booking a tee time.

The highlight event of the summer calendar was the season-ending Elgin Valley Legends Tour Championship, held at Beerwah Golf Club on December 17–18.

With well-known names in the field including Peter Lonard and Scott Hend, the tournament delivered two days of high-quality golf and attracted a strong local crowd.

Victorian professional David Bransdon claimed the title, finishing at eight-under par across the 36-hole championship. Bransdon posted rounds of 68 and 68 to seal victory by one shot in a tightly packed finish.

The event proved a fitting finale to the Legends Tour season and reinforced Beerwah Golf Club’s reputation as one of the Sunshine Coast’s leading golfing venues, capable of hosting elite tournament golf.

Beerwah also hosted Day 1 of the 2026 Grant Field Junior Classic on January 7, welcoming the future stars of golf to the course.

The 54-hole tournament was played over three days, beginning at Beerwah Golf Club before moving to Caloundra for the remaining two rounds.

A busy field of talented young golfers made the most of the conditions and enjoyed the Beerwah layout.

In a terrific result for the club, the overall champions were two Beerwah junior members — Cooper Field (Junior Boys Champion) and Ruby Kavanagh (Junior Girls Champion).

Both finished on top after three days, defeating a quality field from across South East Queensland and interstate.

With a busy year ahead, Beerwah Golf Club geared up to ensure there was something for everyone. Those looking to get into golf were able to access the Ladies Beginner Pathway Program, the Junior Pathway, as well as numerous charity days, seniors events and club competitions scheduled throughout the year.
