By Sunshine Coast Regional Council
OUR Sunshine Coast is a special place to live, work and visit. Sunshine Coast Council is delivering the infrastructure, planning and community facilities needed to support our growing community now and into the future.
From revitalised town centres and protected coastlines to roads and sport facilities, Council is helping create a safer, better connected and more vibrant Sunshine Coast. These are just some of the projects planned for or underway.
Maleny streetscape
The Maple Street Upgrade is enhancing the Maleny town centre with wider footpaths, improved lighting, landscaping, pedestrian crossings and inviting public spaces. Shaped by community input, the project will create a safer, more attractive and accessible main street for residents, businesses and visitors.
Honey Farm Sport and Recreation Precinct
Designed to support a growing population, the Honey Farm Sport and Recreation Precinct will provide football fields, cricket ovals, clubhouses and public amenities across a 75-hectare site.
With Stage 1 underway, the precinct is beginning to take shape as a major sport and recreation hub for the southern Sunshine Coast. In 2025, the project received a $13.6 million funding contribution through the Australian Government’s Growing Regions Program, supporting delivery of this important community facility.

Caloundra Transport Corridor upgrade
The Caloundra Transport Corridor upgrade will improve safety, connectivity and travel choice for residents and visitors while supporting the region’s growth.
The project will deliver vital transport infrastructure to improve movement throughout the southern Sunshine Coast and help create a more connected and accessible region. The project is jointly funded by the Queensland Government through the Department of Transport and Main Roads and Sunshine Coast Council.
Moffat Beach seawall reconstruction
The Moffat Beach seawall reconstruction is strengthening and restoring one of the region’s most loved coastal destinations while protecting community assets, beach access and the coastline from future storm impacts.
Key areas are reopening as works near completion, including a new eastern beach bar overlooking the coastline.
