ShelterBox on display

THE Rotary Club of Maleny, as part of Rotary International, is a global supporter of ShelterBox, a worldwide charity that hand-delivers aid to families devastated by conflict or natural disaster, giving them safe shelter and the tools to rebuild communities.

ShelterBox aid is tailored to meets the needs of a community after a specific disaster in the form of ShelterBoxes and ShelterKits.
ShelterBoxes contain family-sized tents specially designed to withstand the elements and provide people with temporary shelter until they can start the process of rebuilding a home.

ShelterKits contain all the essential tools people need to start repairing and rebuilding homes straight away.
The kits and boxes also contain items that help transform a shelter into a home such as cooking sets, solar lights and activity sets for children.

To see what an erected ShelterBox looks like, Maleny Rotary members will have one set up for display on the grassy area between Peace of Green Gallery and Maleny Realty, 38-44 Maple Street on Sunday, June 27, from 8.30am. They would love you to drop by and take a look.
