A DYNAMIC woodwind artist and composer, Phil Hayter has built an impressive career spanning more than 25 years across Australia and overseas.
Introduced to jazz at just 10 years old by Australian legend Bob Sedergreen, Phil went on to become a regular on Melbourne’s renowned jazz circuit, performing at venues including Bird’s Basement, The JazzLab, Paris Cat Jazz Club and Bennett’s Lane.
He has also appeared at major festivals in Australia and Malaysia.
Now based on the Sunshine Coast, Phil continues to captivate audiences with his distinctive style. His ensemble, Phil Hayter’s Illuminators, blends original jazz-hop funk with hard-bop, Latin rhythms and soulful ballads, combining rich jazz harmonies with the energy of hip hop.
Joining Phil are acclaimed film composer Denis Feletto on keyboards, Owen Newcomb on double bass and Mitch Francis on drums. Together they promise an evening of adventurous improvisation, infectious grooves and exceptional musicianship.
