ORCHID lovers will have plenty to celebrate this month when the Glasshouse Country Orchid Society marks 50 years of growing, learning about and sharing a passion for the spectacular flowering plants.
The society’s 2026 Spring Orchid Show will take over Beerwah Community Hall on September 25 and 26, showcasing an impressive selection of blooms as part of its golden anniversary celebrations.
The annual show will feature displays highlighting the colour and variety of orchids grown by enthusiasts, while experienced growers will be on hand to share their knowledge and inspiration with visitors.
A wide selection of orchid plants and accessories will also be available for sale, along with foliage plants for gardeners looking to add something new to their collection.
This year’s event holds particular significance as the society celebrates five decades of bringing together people with a shared interest in growing and appreciating orchids.
The Orchid Spring Show will be held at Beerwah Community Hall on Friday, September 25, from 8.30am to 4.30pm and Saturday, September 26, from 8.30am to 2.30pm.
Entry is $5 for adults, while children can attend free. The community is invited to come along, enjoy the displays and help the society celebrate its 50-year milestone.
