Stroll down the new boardwalk

WITH two extra weeks of school holidays, are you on the look out for new things to do? Then head to Mooloolaba and check out some stunning views from the boardwalk project completed by Sunshine Coast Council.

In early November the council opened the first part of the new Northern Park in Mooloolaba that provides a stunning new vantage point to take in the sensational views of Mooloolaba Beach down to Point Cartwright.

The project includes a new viewing platform at the Alex Bluff Foreshore Park, a beautiful 200m long boardwalk and staircase linking the boardwalk to Mooloolaba Esplanade, plus significant embankment revegetation and plantings around a new grass open space.

Sunshine Coast Mayor Mark Jamieson said that both the viewing platform and the boardwalk featured plenty of seating options and sweeping coastal views with space for easy accessibility.

The new infrastructure is stage one of the greater Mooloolaba Foreshore Revitalisation Project.

Work is also under way on the adventure playground with a one-of-a-kind design that includes a climbing net, an adventure play tower and an extended swing set.

The next stage of the project will also include a new public amenity, sheltered barbecue area and an accessible path that will link the new boardwalk to Mooloolaba.
