THOUSANDS of people from across the country descended on the hinterland over the long weekend for the long-awaited return of the Maleny Wood Expo.
The return of Barung Landcare’s woodworking extravaganza after three years was worth the wait and continues an event that has become a genuine asset to the Sunshine Coast cultural, social, economical and environmental programs. Friday night’s opening saw the prestigious $10,000 Wootha prize awarded to Derek Calderworth for his intricately detailed piece, titled “Lautissimum”.
