Summer Warm Up Festival

After a three-year hiatus, The Maleny Music Festival will return to the Maleny Showgrounds in 2023 with two great family friendly events planned for the year.

The first musical offering will be a ‘Summer Warm Up’ mini-festival from Friday February 17 to Saturday February 18, followed mid-year by the 10th Maleny Music Festival Winter Solstice celebration scheduled for June 23-25.

Hailed as a boutique festival experience, The Maleny Music Festival taps into the community roots and eclectic vibes of original Maleny Folk Festival, a forerunner of the Woodford Folk Festival.

The program for the Summer Warm Up includes a Friday evening acoustic and a family Bush Dance in the Bunya Pavilion. The Saturday program will commence at 11am and feature an impressive line-up of local Sunshine Coast talent as well as interstate headlining acts. Camping will be available and food trucks, coffee vans and bars will be onsite both Friday evening and Saturday.

Festival mentor Noel Gardner said it was great to be planning their 9th event in February, with the festival team excited about putting together a summer gathering for the first time.

The program is currently being finalised with confirmed main acts including Round Mountain Girls, Multi-award winning artist Michael Fix and world music festival favourites Zumpa all set to perform.

“This will be a prelude to our larger event later in the year, however we are really looking forward to putting on this February summer event which should lend itself well to an enjoyable experience with the warmer temperature enhancing a fun, relaxed and intimate festival atmosphere,” said Noel.
