A CEDARTON-based business has again turned a love of footy into meaningful support for a national charity, with A.K. Cabinets raising $1000 for Share The Dignity during the 2025 NRL season.
The initiative centres on the business’s well-known “Fudge Jar”, the brainchild of owner Alf Kwarcianyi.
Each time a player is caught swearing on television during a match, a gold coin is dropped into the jar.
What began as a light-hearted bit of fun has grown into an annual fundraiser, boosted further by generous donations from staff and friends at the company’s Christmas party.
This year’s tally was donated to Share The Dignity, a charity working to end period poverty across Australia.
The organisation collects and distributes menstrual products to women and girls experiencing homelessness, domestic violence and financial hardship.
Alf and his wife Janet said they were pleased to support such a worthwhile cause and encouraged others to get involved.
