THE Glasshouse Tennis Club will celebrate a new era of night-time play with a community open day on Saturday, July 25, marking the official switch-on of its new court lighting.
The “Lights On” event will be held from 4pm at the club’s courts within the Glass House Mountains Sports Club grounds, 902 Steve Irwin Way, and will invite locals to come along, enjoy a free game of tennis and see the upgraded facilities in action.
Glass House MP Andrew Powell will officially turn on the lights once darkness falls, while Division 1 Councillor Jenny Broderick will unveil the club’s new defibrillator.
The afternoon will also feature a sausage sizzle, mobile coffee van and an introduction to pickleball from Andrew Kratzman. Club members are encouraging residents of all ages and abilities to attend, try the new lights and discover what the Glasshouse Tennis Club has to offer.
