A THREE-year journey to turn Club Glasshouse into a go-to family friendly venue in the hinterland was recognised when it received the Gold Glassie at last week’s annual Glassie Awards. The coveted Gold Glassie is awarded to the best small business across Andrew Powell’s Glass House electorate.
Geoff Martin has been the manager of Club Glasshouse for the past three years, and his tireless work to make “The Glassie” a friendly and welcoming venue has come to fruition.
“It’s kind of nice after three years of building it up to what it is now, it’s a good feeling,” he said.
“I know I teared up, it’s an achievement, it really is, I think I felt vindicated.
“No one even knew we were here a few years ago, so it is really nice to be recognised for the work the whole team puts in to the venue.”
This comes as Club Glasshouse just installed their new playground, further adding to the family friendly nature of the venue.
“We’ve never even had a playground at Club Glasshouse before, so it was just another thing we needed to do to continue to grow the venue,” he said.
“So far, the kids who have played on there seem to love it.” Club Glasshouse is at 6 Gardner St, Glass House Mountains.
