
THIEVES targeted grocery stores stealing cash and cigarettes in a series of raids across Maleny and Landsborough in the early hours of Sunday morning.
CCTV footage released as part of a police investigation show four people in balaclavas and hoodies filling shopping trolleys with cigarettes from the Maleny Woolworths.
Between 2am and 3am, five people forced their way into three separate businesses in two stolen vehicles, a black 2011 BMW 120i with Queensland registration 269BG5 and a white 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander with Queensland registration 142EP5 and forced entry at the addresses before stealing various property.
The first business, on Maple Street, Maleny was targeted around 2.04am.
Then around 2.12am they hit the Woolworths at Maleny on Bunya Street where mobile telephones and cigarettes were stolen.
At 2.30am then attended a business on Railway Street, Landsborough and stole cash and cigarettes.
Investigators are appealing for information from the public and have released vision of the suspects who are believed to be connected to these series of offences. The released vision is from the Bunya Street business.
The BMW used in these offences was taken from a Norval Street address in Salisbury late last week. It has since been recovered by police. The BMW is believed to also be linked to further property offences committed across Runcorn and Springwood, these matters also remain under investigation.
The Mitsubishi used in these offences was taken from a Burrigan Street address in Woodridge late last week and is still currently outstanding.
