Time for the snow chains?

THE picture resembles the hinterland’s first fall of snow but was in fact the outcome of an intense hailstorm that swept through Glasshouse Country last week.

The end-of-winter storm dumped hailstones about 5mm in diameter and while they didn’t cause extensive damage they certainly caused a change in scenery.

The Bureau of Meteorology released its winter summary last week, revealing the state had recorded its warmest winter in 110 years.

Average temperatures across Queensland were 2.32 degrees above the historical average.

The BOM has forecast a dry and warm spring for the state.
