The journey began with a rebrand in October 2023, shifting from On Obi Maleny to Tranquil Getaways On Obi Maleny, a name that better reflects their philosophy: Relax, Reset and Explore.
Behind the scenes, Barb and Greg have worked hard on the foundations — restructuring ownership, sharpening financial management, and developing clear business roles, with marketing at the forefront.
Greg has focused on the property itself, ensuring all villas are comfortable, solar-powered, well-connected, and thoughtfully set up for sustainable stays.
Barb drives the marketing and financials, and together they make every decision that shapes the guest experience.
Their retreat offerings now span solo escapes, duo and trio stays, group packages, and signature couples retreats — with an Ultimate Retreat running from November 30 to December 4 this year.
Collaborations with local favourites like Hinterland Float, the Platypus Whisperer, The Joy Collective, Maleny Golf Club, and Brouhaha mean guests experience the very best of the region.
Community connection runs deep too.
Their Obi Yogis group meets every Monday and Wednesday, welcoming guests and locals alike, with over 25 members and growing. A business built with heart, grounded in place.
