Twinnies viral LA talkshow fame

THE Twinnies have taken their local fame all the way to Hollywood, after a surprise appearance on US late-night program Jimmy Kimmel Live.
The Landsborough sisters were secretly invited to Los Angeles last month following the unexpected global interest of a news clip filmed after a serious Easter traffic incident near their home last year. The segment, featuring the Twinnies speaking with TV crews about the incident, went viral, with around 26 million views.
Flown from Brisbane to LA with American Airlines by the US producers, the pair were chauffeured to the iconic Roosevelt Hotel on Hollywood Boulevard, just a short walk from the Jimmy Kimmel Live studios.
On recording night, the Twinnies were given their own dressing room with their names on the door and treated to professional hair and makeup before heading on stage.
They were met with a “standing ovation” from the studio audience, who erupted in cheers as the sisters walked out.
During the interview, they spoke with host Jimmy Kimmel about the viral clip, their sudden international profile and life back home on the Sunshine Coast. They later joined guest Will Arnett on set, describing Kimmel as “cheeky” and “fun”.
Away from the cameras, the Twinnies explored Los Angeles, visiting Hollywood Boulevard, Beverly Hills Rodeo Drive and Universal Studios and a local zoo, where they were thrilled to see flamingos for the first time.
What began as a local news moment has now propelled the Twinnies from Landsborough to LA marking a milestone first overseas trip and a major boost for their long running Landsborough based seabird and wildlife rescue service.
