VISIT Sunshine Coast’s first winter voucher campaign has delivered thousands of bookings across 38 local tourism operators, providing a significant boost to the region’s visitor economy during the traditionally quieter winter season.
The campaign, run in partnership with Experience Oz and supported by Tourism and Events Queensland, encouraged travellers to discover more of the Sunshine Coast by offering $100 off bookings of $200 or more on participating experiences.
Visit Sunshine Coast CEO Matt Stoeckel said the initiative had been a great success for the local tourism industry. “This is a fantastic result for our local tourism industry,” Mr Stoeckel said.
“Encouraging visitors to book experiences during winter not only helps our operators but also gives people another reason to stay longer and explore more. That’s a win for local businesses and our visitor economy.”
Aussie World Head of Sales and Marketing Sebastian Hahn said the promotion delivered strong results for the theme park while highlighting the benefits of collaboration across the tourism sector.
“The promotion was a fantastic initiative that delivered strong results for Aussie World and demonstrated the value of working collaboratively to drive visitation across the Sunshine Coast,” Mr Hahn said.
He said the campaign helped the attraction connect with new audiences while showcasing the experiences available in the region.
The voucher program has now concluded, but Visit Sunshine Coast said the campaign demonstrated the effectiveness of targeted promotions in driving off-peak visitation and supporting tourism operators across the region.
